BAJA FORGED: Theresa Contreras, forging new paths
Theresa Contreras has reached an incredible milestone as CEO, Co-Founder, and Designer of BAJA FORGED, a division of Design, Build, Detroy. This business was started out of a passion for designing parts and customizing off-road vehicles. After working for her family business for over 20 years, she decided to take the plunge and make this hobby her full-time job starting January 2023.
BAJA FORGED became known when their signature builds started to win multiple SEMA Show Ford™ Design Awards from 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. Theresa has also worked with many renowned brands and celebrities, such as Ford™, Jay Leno, KIA™, and is now looking forward to watching her new brand continue to grow. As a woman-owned business, she has also partnered up with a US-based manufacturer, keeping jobs in the USA and products made locally.
BAJA FORGED products are known for their aesthetic quality and high performance standards on and off-road. Theresa believes that vehicles should be an extension of one’s personality, so she is dedicated to making sure her parts look good and perform well. Driving/co-driving in racing events such as The MINT 400, King of the Hammers, and the BAJA 1000, she understands what’s needed to tackle different terrains.
In addition, she is an active volunteer in the automotive industry with the SEMA Association, as well as a strong advocate for taking care of our land by participating in desert clean-up events. She also loves teaching skilled trades through a non profit she co-founded, Real Deal Revolution, and you can hear her share her thoughts on the motorsports industry on her new podcast she co-hosts, High Octane Hustle.
Overall, Theresa has been an inspiration to many with her dedication to design and passion for building quality off-road products and custom vehicles. She is a true leader in the automotive industry and continues to showcase great achievements through her business and serving others.
