Netflix reality star Mikey of “instant hotel” fame has launched a party-themed, Airbnb-like platform for booking entertainers and atmosphere enhancing performers in a post covid world. 

The events industry is about to be disrupted with the launch of Australian start-up website, Little Lush Book – an online service that makes it easy to book entertainers. The service will be liked by those organizing parties, club events and other such events. Once international travel resumes Mikey’s sights are set for Vegas and Miami.

Little Lush Book welcomes entertainers of all varieties, including dancers, models, hosts and more, who want to prompt their services with safety. 

Mikey Gelo is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Little Lush Book. He was seen on Netflix’s reality series “instant hotel”, who some may call the “villain” of the show. He says:

“We are really excited hearing word of our innovative website spread and expect it will be a major disruption to the party entertainment industry, including clubs and agencies that sometimes take almost 50% commission. We are already getting jobs posted in the Uk and USA and we can’t even travel there to promote it yet.

“With covid disrupting the clubs and functions around the world and many entertainers have been forced to take private bookings through other avenues. So we thought this website would be the perfect way to create a safe working environment.

Little Lush Book allows entertainers to control the marketing of their own services. The talent signed to littlelushbook no longer have to be restricted by clubs and agencies, which often impose hefty commissions and strict conditions.

Unlike many clubs and agencies, Little Lush Book does not charge a fee to clients looking to hire entertainment. The only cost a client must incur is the cost of the entertainment itself.

“There are no hidden charges or fees that clients must pay. This is ground-breaking and we’re hoping that removing the fees will translate into higher demand,” Gelo said.

As an online marketplace that connects businesses to consumers, Little Lush Book follows in the footsteps of services like Airbnb and Uber.

“The internet has broken up traditional and outdated marketplaces to give consumers more freedom and service providers have more power. Businesses like Amazon, Uber and Airbnb are all ways of connecting businesses to consumers in a more accessible manner and with rating systems that help create user trust,” Mikey said.

“Most people wouldn’t have a clue how to hire someone in the club entertainment industry, and with venues and clubs now closed post covid, they are forced to look online. By providing an easy-to-use service which consumers know is reliable, the potential for growth for staff hire in the entertainment industry is massive.

“Little Lush Book is about privacy and creating a fair workplace. Entertainers can easily decide which job they want to do, and clients can easily decide which entertainer they want to choose, the best part is the talent profile is private until they apply adding a level of privacy; no profile can just be looked up”.

Mikey has worked as a dance manager in the entertainment industry in Sydney for many years. He saw first-hand the risks with outside bookings and heard horror stories. So he wanted to create a safer environment to encourage good ethics outside the club. He has spent the last year building Little Lush Book from scratch which now has over 700 users signed up all over the world. Once the restrictions relax, he has his sights set on the USA where they already have  jobs posted right now.

Currently the site is completely free to sign up and apply to work or book talent, and with international borders opening to Australia, he has launch parties planned already in Miami and Vegas.
